After a series of cryptic tweets and teasers, nothing has finally come out of Nothing Phone 1. Smartphones have gained a lot of buzz in the tech world especially because of their unique design approach. So let’s know in detail about the Nothing Phone 1 specs, features, and launch along with its expected price in Nepal.
Nothing phone 1 Overview:
Design and Display
As for the design, the smartphone comes with a transparent rear panel, multiple color tones, and an LED strip at the back. LED strips can be customized for specific contacts or information. Nothing The phone 1 has a bullet-shaped camera hump in the upper left corner, similar to the iPhone X’s camera setup.
The Nothing Phone 1 sports a 6.55-inch Full HD+ OLED display panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. It comes with an aspect ratio of 20:9, 1080 x 2400 pixels screen resolution, and others. The phone also has an optical under-display fingerprint sensor for biometrics. Similarly, the protection of Gorilla Glass 5 is also there.
The brand revealed the design of the Nothing Phone 1 a few weeks back and as we all know it has a transparent body like the Nothing Ear (1). Along with this, there are many LED lights on the back of the device, which one does not like to call the Glyph interface. The device is wrapped with an aluminum frame with Gorilla Glass 5 on both the front and back and the device is 8.3mm thin.
Talking about the display, a 6.55-inch OLED flat panel has been given in the device. It comes with a Full HD+ resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels resulting in a 20:9 aspect ratio. Also, it supports a high refresh rate of 120Hz. The display also houses an under-display optical fingerprint scanner. It is a 10bit HDR10+ certified display with 402 PPI and 240 Hz touch sampling.
Cameras
Going forward, nothing is trying to keep things simple when it comes to the camera, so it’s not just going after the numbers. The phone (1) has dual rear cameras which is a 50MP 1/1.56′ Sony IMX766 sensor with f/1.88 aperture and support for OIS and EIS dual stabilization.
The secondary sensor is a 50MP Samsung JN1 ultrawide lens with a 114° field of view. The smartphone can shoot 4K video, and the ultrawide lens can also act as a macro sensor. At the front, there is another 16MP Sony IMX471 sensor for selfies. Apart from the specifications, the company has also shared the camera samples of the phone (1). So let’s look at them.
Performance and Software
The device hasn’t lasted too long to include wireless and reverse wireless charging. The phone is equipped with one (1) Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G Plus chipset, which does not allow wireless or reverses wireless charging by default. As a result, Qualcomm will have to explicitly design the chipset for the phone (1) to include this feature.
Apart from a few new additions, the Snapdragon 778G Plus remains identical in terms of the core architecture. It has an eight-core CPU with four performance (ARM Cortex-A78) and four efficiencies (ARM Cortex-A55) cores. Similarly, the Adreno 642L GPU is used for graphics, as is the X53 5G modem for connectivity.
Users are expecting the phone (1) to have a top-of-the-line 8 Gen 1 or 8+ Gen 1 processor. But according to Carl Pei, chose the mid-range chipset as it offers a good balance of price, performance, and power consumption.
Nothing OS
As for software, the Nothing Phone 1 runs on the company’s own Android skin called Nothing OS. The company describes its custom skins as “essential” to the pure form of Android. The OS is focused on providing a fast, intuitive and personalized experience. Neither OS has that dot-matrix design you see in a company logo.
The Pixel 6 lineup promises nothing but 3 major OS updates and security patches, which almost matches Google’s current commitment to the Pixel 6 lineup. To give users a glimpse of Nothing OS, the beta version of Nothing OS Launcher is also available on the Play Store.
Battery and Connectivity
The Nothing Phone (1) packs a 4,500mAh non-removable battery with 33W wired fast charging technology and 15W Qi wireless charging support. Also, the phone has 5W reverse wireless charging.
Talking about the phone’s connectivity options, the Nothing Phone 1 has a 5G network, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, Dual-SIM, USB Type-C port, etc.
The phone has a unique personalization of the illumination of the LED strips using the Glyph interface. Similarly, the phone includes many other features like face recognition even with a mask or other covering, IP53 dust/water resistance, etc.
Neither brand promises to provide 3 years of Android OS updates and 4 years of security updates (every 2 months). It should be amazing because you will get Android 15 on this phone.
Wireless charging
Another thing the company is really focusing on is its charging coil display. Yes, nothing the phone (1) supports 15W wireless charging, and it’s also a key part of the phone’s design. The phone also has 5W reverse wireless charging for your TWS earbuds and other accessories.
In terms of battery, the phone (1) packs a 4500mAh battery, which comes with 33W fast charging. But the company has not included a compatible charger inside the box.

We expect the price of the Nothing Phone 1 to start at NPR 58,000 when launched in Nepal.
